The Writers Remix Series takes a deep dive into the Galleries for Art of the Islamic Worlds. Prepare to be moved by local writers performing original works. Abdurrahman Danquah explores identity, faith, and connection; oais hala is inspired by Arabic poetry; Maha Abdelwahab addresses themes of diaspora, gender, and imperialism; and Raneem Bakir Alia explores themes of matrilineage, grief, and girlhood. |

Celebrating the 25th anniversary of the collaboration between the MFAH and the Houston chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the collection encompasses international, architect-designed objects—particularly furniture, metalwork, ceramics, glass, lighting, and industrial design. After the tour, head to Cafe Leonelli with the group for a complimentary drink. |
